About Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs 5 Mile

The Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs feature a 5-mile route through the grounds of Lambton Estate near Chester-le-Street in County Durham. The mixed-terrain course combines woodland tracks, grassy sections and firm estate paths, offering runners the opportunity to explore an area that is not normally open to the public.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Lambton Estate and its surrounding parkland, the route showcases a mixture of natural scenery and estate landscapes. The event forms part of a wider trail running series that also includes 10-mile and 15-mile distances, allowing runners to experience the estate over a range of route lengths.

The race is also Canicross-friendly, making it one of the few trail events in the region that welcomes runners accompanied by a dog on a lead.
