The Hook 10 Mile is a well-established road race held each spring in the village of Hook in Hampshire as part of the wider Hook Fun Run & Road Races event. Organised by a large local volunteer team, the race has become one of the biggest annual community sporting events in the area, combining competitive road running with a strong local atmosphere and fundraising focus.
Starting and finishing in Hartletts Park in the centre of Hook, the course takes runners onto partly closed and traffic-controlled roads through the Hampshire countryside. The route is known for its mixture of open rural roads, gentle undulations, and fast runnable sections, making it appealing both to experienced club runners chasing strong times and to recreational runners stepping up beyond the 10K distance.
The Hook 10 Mile forms part of a long-running community event that dates back to 1992 and has expanded significantly over the years. What began as a smaller local fun run has developed into a major annual race weekend featuring multiple distances and attracting well over a thousand participants. The event has also raised substantial funds for local charities, schools, sports clubs, and community organisations throughout the Hook area.
Runners can expect a friendly race-day atmosphere with strong volunteer support, local spectators, and a community-focused event village around the park and finish area. The combination of scenic Hampshire roads, accessible organisation, and established local support has helped make the Hook 10 Mile one of the best-known spring road races in the region.
