Compton Bassett 5 Mile Entry, Date & Race Guide

The Compton Bassett 5 Mile is a road race set in the picturesque village of Compton Bassett in Wiltshire. The course is designed to be flat and fast, making it ideal for those aiming for personal bests. Starting near the Benson Hall, the route initially follows the minor C15 road before transitioning onto the quiet, unclassified country roads of the 'Highway Loop'.

This section allows runners to establish their rhythm on level terrain, before rejoining the C15 for the latter part of the race. The elevation remains relatively stable, with minimal gradients throughout the course. This event is part of the Wiltshire Road Race League and is organised by Calne Running Club.

It features chip timing and provides essential facilities including registration and toilet access at the village hall. The race is open to participants aged 16 and over, and all finishers receive a bespoke medal, with awards for top finishers in various categories.
