OpenRace overview
The Sheffield 10K is one of Yorkshire’s largest city-centre road races, taking runners through the heart of Sheffield on closed roads with thousands of spectators creating a lively race-day atmosphere. Organised by Run For All in partnership with Sheffield City Council, the event attracts runners of all abilities, from those tackling their first 10K to experienced club runners chasing a fast time. The route showcases some of Sheffield’s best-known streets and landmarks, combining urban scenery with the city’s distinctive character and enthusiastic local support.
Starting and finishing in Sheffield city centre, the course heads through popular areas including Ecclesall Road and past Endcliffe Park before returning to the finish-line celebrations. While Sheffield’s terrain is rarely completely flat, the well-supported route offers an accessible challenge and a memorable race experience. Participants benefit from chip timing, a finisher's medal, goody bag, and excellent event organisation throughout the day.
Whether you're building towards a new personal best, running for charity, or simply looking to experience one of the region's flagship running events, the Sheffield 10K delivers a welcoming atmosphere and a strong sense of community. Its combination of city-centre roads, crowd support, and professional organisation has made it a popular fixture on the Yorkshire running calendar.
