Mersey Tunnel Liverpool 10K Entry, Date & Race Guide

The Mersey Tunnel 10K offers one of the most distinctive race experiences in the UK, giving runners the rare opportunity to run through the Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel beneath the River Mersey. Starting on the Liverpool side of the river, the course descends into the tunnel before emerging on the Wirral and continuing towards New Brighton. The route combines a fast opening section with spectacular views of Liverpool’s waterfront and skyline during the latter stages of the race.

Organised by BTR Liverpool, the event has become a standout fixture in the Merseyside running calendar thanks to its unique point-to-point format and memorable setting. After passing through the tunnel, runners follow roads and promenade paths along the river, with the finish awaiting in New Brighton. For many participants, the chance to run through a normally traffic-only tunnel makes this a race unlike any other 10K in the country.
