Chariots of Fire Beach Race Entry, Date & Race Guide

The Chariots of Fire Beach Race takes place on the scenic West Sands in St Andrews, Scotland. This 5km race features a flat, out-and-back course run entirely on sand and through surf, following the natural contour of the beach. Runners start and finish to the iconic strains of Vangelis, reminiscent of the famous film.

The route extends 2.5km out along the beach before turning back, with a piper marking the halfway point. The event also includes a children's 1-mile fun run for participants aged 11 and under. This race supports local charities, including the RNLI, with proceeds contributing to community initiatives. Participants are rewarded with post-race goodies, including a medal and a fudge doughnut, alongside a complimentary drink for adult finishers. The event is characterised by its unique coastal setting and community involvement, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
