Beat the Boat 10k Entry, Date & Race Guide

Beat the Boat is a unique summer 10K held in Windsor and Eton, combining riverside trail running with a distinctive race-against-the-boat format along the River Thames. The event is known for its lively atmosphere, scenic setting and unusual challenge, with runners attempting to beat pace boats travelling alongside parts of the course.

The flat route follows sections of the Thames Path beneath the backdrop of Windsor Castle, using a mixture of trails, paths and light off-road terrain. Its accessible profile makes it suitable for a wide range of runners, from experienced club athletes to those looking for a fun and memorable event.

Organised by Runface, Beat the Boat has become a popular fixture in the Berkshire running calendar and also includes junior races, helping create a family-friendly race-day atmosphere.
